Made from native Kanuka timber, it is beautifully carved and finished.
Note the black tongue on the taiaha, made by ebonising the timber - carefully scorching the timber until it bubbles and goes black. Such a cool feature!
And to support the taiaha, a beautiful chunky stand, made from native NZ Kauri, with the struts lined with leather to protect the taiaha. Everything has been thought of.
